October is in full swing, and there’s lots happening at Our Space. From crafty Halloween fun to new skills and community projects, here’s a quick round-up of what’s coming up as we head into half-term.
Crafties Spooktacular
Wednesday 29 October, 10:30 am – 1:30 pm
Get ready for some frightfully good fun!
Join us for pumpkin carving, Halloween mobiles, spooky baking and more.
All ages are welcome – just drop in!
£2 per child (includes all materials and a Halloween balloon).
Children must have an accompanying adult for pumpkin carving.
Half-Term Youth Special: British Sign Language Short Course
For ages 11–18 | FREE | Booking essential
Learn a skill for life in this fun, hands-on introduction to British Sign Language with Alice and Sarah-Jade Walker.
Six hours across three days during half term will cover the basics in an engaging, friendly way.
Earn 10 Leadership Scheme points towards your Christmas reward!

Chill ~ Play ~ Learn ~ Grow
Our youth sessions are back with games, snacks, and practical “life-hack” learning.
This month’s topics include:
• How to cook eggs (boil, fry, scramble)
• How to use a washing machine
Join the new Leadership Scheme to earn points, certificates, and rewards — even a Christmas trip out once you reach 15 points.
Friday Mornings at Our Space

Join us for relaxed mornings of games, crafts, and conversation.
Also on Fridays
Throughout October, we’re creating a community wet-felting wall hanging for Our Space. It’s free to join, and all materials are provided. No experience needed.
Gage Mix Radio Grand Opening – Thank You, Selby!
On 4th October, we celebrated the official launch of Gage Mix Radio at Our Space.
A huge thank-you to everyone who came along, to Mayor Jack Proud for cutting the ribbon, and to Cray Bakes for their delicious cake donations. The atmosphere was great, the café was buzzing, and there’s so much more to come.
Expect podcasts, talk shows, and competitions soon from the Gage Mix team.
A big welcome to them as part of our growing community at 58 Flaxley Road.
