Despite the weather's moody disposition, our spirits stayed high at the #CommunityGarden. Huddled under shelter, we sipped hot drinks, shared laughter, and even tackled a quiz or two. Rain or shine! 🌧️☕️ #Selby #Gardening

When the sun graced us with its presence, we seized the opportunity to add colour to our canvas. Armed with brushes, we transformed a tired fence, and a new friend, the gutter hedgehog, joined to protect our water harvesting system. 2-4 pm, every day, we invite you to this living artwork. 🎨🌲 #LoveWhereYouLive #CommunitySpace

Friday's Lucky Charm: Even on Friday the 13th, luck was on our side! Gifted a large parasol by a generous local resident, we're prepared for all weather, ready to welcome you 2-4 p.m., any day. Find us near St James Church, rain or shine! 🌂🌷 #Selby #Gardening

🌱 Monday: Kicked off the week with a flourish! Weeding, conker collecting, and harvesting chives and tomatoes. Engaging in conversations and future planning made the day even brighter despite a bit of rain. Join us any day from 2-4 pm!

🌿 Tuesday: Another fruitful day at the #CommunityGarden in Selby. Bulb planting, weeding, and some quality relaxation and chats. The garden is gathering positive energy! 🌿💚😊

🌧️ Wednesday: Rainy afternoons won't dampen our spirits at the #CommunityGarden! Ho ho hoeing (no Christmas signs yet!) and singing in the rain kept us motivated. #LoveWhereYouLive #Gardening

🌿 Thursday: Cleared another area at the #CommunityGarden, prepping for new life! Bright red berries on the Holly tree added to the cheery atmosphere. Birds serenading us made it a delightful day. Open daily, 2-4 pm, all are welcome! 🐦🦋⚘🌲

🎨 Friday: Infused some colour into the #CommunityGarden with bunting, pom poms, and decorated rocks from the Selby Fun Day. These rocks hold the essence of what Selby means to our community. Open daily, 2-4 pm in October. Join us and contribute to the garden's vibrant spirit! 🌈🌿⚘

During October come along any day Monday to Sunday between 2 and 4 pm, whether for 5 minutes or 2 hours.

Everyone is welcome, come alone, bring a friend or the whole family.

Come and do some gardening or just to sit and enjoy the space.

Selby Big Local residents will be there each day if you want a friendly chat, no worries if you don’t. A free hot drink on offer if you would like one.

The garden is next to the main door for St James Church, at the far end of the carpark on Audus Street and across from Standering Hall.

Come to relax after shopping in town or take a break in your work day or after picking the kids up from school.

We are very grateful for the Wildflower turf that was kindly donated.

The hard work of a number of volunteers has made the garden come to life again after a long wet Winter.
